Edetària

Editeria

Edetaria · Terra Alta, Spain

Edetària Selecció Red is the first Vi de Finca Qualificada from DO Terra Alta. This wine is made from mainly Garnacha Peluda as well as Garnacha Fina and Cariñena, from our terroirs “còdols”, “tapàs” and “tapàs blanc” respectively. Garnacha Peluda has been planted on “còdols” soil (an old river-bed) for more than 40 years achieving wines with great complexity of aromas.

Deep red coloured, the wine displays balsamic and mint aromas. After a light glass swirl, rich aromas of red ripe fruit, spice, cocoa and tobacco leaf and mineral appear. Upon palate shows powerful, silky, with smooth and well integrated tannins. The wine stands out for its elegance and complexity, thanks to a balanced acidity.

Commercial yeast are used to allow fermentation at very low temperatures to avoid oxidation. Malolactic fermentation takes places for all the wine and lee aging for several months. Manual pipeage is used to promote elegance. Wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Un-filtered.
